Rehab - Lip Filler Rehabilitation

Dissolving filler, dermaplaining, microneedling, peptides, red light, or RF. Consultation required.

Service Description

Have you received lip filler from an injector that used multiple needle injection points? Are you seeing migrated filler or an uneven shape? Are you noticing, even years later, that your lips seem to be endlessly chapped, or pale areas on your lip? Does the skin feel firmer in some areas than in others? If you answered yes to any of these questions you are suffering from "filler fatigue." The more times you have received lip filler with needles the more likely you are to notice some of these issues. Lip filler is made from chemically cross-linked molecules of hyaluronic acid (HA), linking together to add volume, it is considered an injectable implant. By using a cannula (see Lips Like Sugar for full description) we are able to ensure that all of the HA (or filler) is in the correct location, under the skin where it belongs. When using certain needle techniques to inject, you risk filler becoming trapped in the skin, not beneath. When a needle is repeatedly puncturing the skin and entering the lip, it is likely that some filler can be injected into the skin or underlying structures in the lip. This is where lumps and migration can occur. The filler is pulling the skin because the HA molecules are attracted to each other chemically, and are trying to connect, even in different layers of the skin. The lumps can shrink as healing occurs and swelling is reduced. However the filler/HA is still trapped. Skin grows from the inside out, eventually pushing filler to the surface layer of skin. Once the filler has grown out with the skin into the epidermis it dries out and interferes with normal skin turn over. HA needs water to add volume to the tissue, but if it grows out into the epidermis it is no longer in contact with water and it loses all of its volume. The dried out, trapped HA is still cross-linked acting like a glue, causing thickened areas of dead skin to develop and a chapped lip appearance. Using a multiple modalities we dissolve migrated or overfilled lips and promote skin turnover on to restore the skin of your lip to its original condition. This service can result in some minor scabbing that takes up to a week to resolve. Monthly sessions recommended. Pricing: 600.00 for 3 sessions using a combination of dissolving, dermaplaning, microneedling with peptides, red light, and RF. For enhanced results, we suggest Ourself topical lip filler, and DefenAge 2-minute Reveal Mask and scrub, available in-house. Consultations are required.
